The WALL-E robot project. These toys show up for cheap on eBay, even cheaper if they are broken or missing the remote. I picked up two of these, that were missing their remotes, on eBay with the intention of gutting out the electronics and adding my own microcontroller, sensors, and servos to turn the toy into a small autonomous or semi-autonomous robot.
